Separation -- What's Next?

Since the days of Madeline Murray O'hare, the political left has tried to remove any public references to God, beginning with school prayers. The most recent effort, to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, has failed. But a new attack is underway, this time on the national motto "In God We Trust." If this effort is successful, then the source of the national motto will probably be next -- "The Star Spangled Banner." In the last stanza, the national anthem reads, "Then conquer we must when our cause it is just/ And this be our motto: "In God is our Trust." Another casualty will be "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" with plenty of Christian references, beginning with the opening line, "Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord." "America the Beautiful" will also have to go, with its refrain, "God shed His Grace on thee." Another patriotic song, "My Country "Tis of Thee," will also be deemed politically incorrect, because it invokes "Great God, our King." Once the political left has finished with our patriotic songs, our national monuments will be next. I am sure The Liberty Bell will have to be melted down because it was cast with a Bible verse on its surface, Leviticus 25:10. The only way the liberals will be able to secularize America is by destroying its history and heritage to appease a few militant aheists.
