5 Minute Apologetics for Today

Sadly, many Christians refuse to see the need for apologetics. Most Christians do not witness, and those who do often cannot see how apologetics can help in evangelism. Besides, many Christians take the attitude that, "Im happy with the simple things." But, as Ron Rhodes points out, apologetics means "defense" (12). Apologetics provides information for an effective witness to unbelievers and edification for the spiritual growth of Christians. This book covers basic Biblical doctrines like the Person and Work of Christ to contemporary issues like homosexuality and Islam. The format is one page a day.  The readings are ordered "Day 1,"  "Day 2," etc., instead of dates like "January 1," "January 2."  Personally, I prefer that set up.  I feel guilty when I get days or weeks behind and pressured to catch up.  This way, I can pick up where I left off.  The short, one page articles are informative and to the point.  This is great for introducing children or church youth to basic Christian doctrines. The book can be used for personal or family devotions and even for youth discussion groups and Sunday School classes. This book also contains an index to locate specific subjects and a list of more detailed books by Ron Rhodes on topics he touches on in 5 Minute Apologetics for Today.
